It might not have seemed amusing to Arsenal fans - still musing about how they were losing to Manchester United -but trigger-happy referee Mike Dean sending off Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger in the last moments of today’s game at Old Trafford, presumably on the say-so of a delicate fourth official, was a moment of high farce.
Poor Arsene didn’t know where to go, and nobody else seemed to know where to send him.
Wenger is an intelligent man and it must be dawning on him that it might be more sensible to have one of his minions rampaging around in these so-called ‘technical areas’ - as Man U’s Fergie does with Mike Phelan - rather than committing his dignified self to such indignities.
Arsenal looked pretty good all the same. But why doesn’t he play Abu Diabi (despite his penchant for perfectly-placed own goals) in a holding position alongside Song, leaving Denilson to get forward?
Well what does Mr Blatherskite know?
