In summer you always get cases of idiots who kill their dogs by locking them in airless cars but you’d expect the police to be more careful with their highly-trained animals.
But someone locked two police dogs in a van outside the headquarters of Nottinghamshire police and the dogs died.
The RSPCA is investigating and the Notts police, as companies and institutions do these days, has issued the usual platitudinous statement.
“The welfare of all our animals is of paramount importance and we endeavour to take every measure possible to ensure their well-being and safety.”
Well clearly they didn’t or failed in the attempt.
Can’t they just say sorry?
