Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs, who’s 79 (I think) with a tube up his nose, a broken hip and a life expectancy of about a year, is still in the tender care of HMG at Norwich Prison after ‘justice’ secretary Jack Straw over-ruled the Parole Board’s decision to let the old villain out.
Biggs, Straw pontificated, was “wholly unrepentant” for his crimes (which included escaping from Wandsworth jail via a self-made rope ladder) and, what’s more, had used the media “outrageously.”
Is this a crime?
If it is there’d be lots of MPs banged up, doubly so as they’re nearly all unrepentant for their various acts of fraud.
Sixties villains like Biggs do not ‘repent’, that goes against their code. But Biggs poses no danger whatsoever to the public and Straw is just being an ******** in choosing not to release him.
He’s just scared of a bilious editorial in the Sun or the Mail.
And this is the man who spent four years as foreign secretary defending an illegal war in Iraq that cost at least 100,000 Iraqi lives. Not to mention hundreds of British servicemen.
