Reality TV star and terminal cancer patient Jade Goody is having an emergency operation tonight and is bringing forward the christening of her sons, and herself apparently (and an interview with Piers Morgan) from next weekend to the middle of the week.
Isn’t it time to let the unfortunate woman just die in peace?
It won’t happen of course, unless the operation goes amiss, and PR man Max Clifford will continue to bring us ghastly bulletins from the bedside to stuff tomorrow’s front pages.
This whole circus has gone way beyond legitimate human interest (and money-raising for the aforementioned sons) into the realm of ghoulishness and self interest on the part of some of the players.
Not Her Majesty’s Media’s finest hour. Or ours.

I do not think this has gone beyond legitimate human interest. Who are you speaking for?
I am interested as is a large number of the country, infact world. We can all have an opinion, but I am just pleased and thank Jade so much for saving other woman which she has undoubtedly done and will do. Freedom and the right to choose how you would like to die media or no media. I supose it is easy to comment when you are not facing her situation.
Totally agree. Most people were all for making money for her children and Cervical Cancer awareness promotion, but since yesterday she is on the front pages of tabloids either crying or on a stretcher looking very distressed. That is just intrusion and shows a very ugly side to our society if that is really what people want to see. Extreme sympathies to her, and OK, she exploited the papers to get money for her kids but let some decency prevail and leave the woman and her family in peace now. And quite honestly, I and a lot of other people feel very uncomfortable with being froce fed with every detail of her condition.
u dont have to have it force fed… u dont even have to read it or watch it… did u have a tough up bringing, and have u got children… because i know if this was me I would want to sucure my childrens future, at what ever cost and I know u would too.. it’s instinctive to prvide for your children even if you dont have a terminal illness, I admire her… its a testiment of a mothers love that she put her childrens future above her own illness.. god bless you jade and your family….
the fact that your writing a message…. is that not adding to what you term jade goody circus? hypocrite!!!!
