Tottenham’s Ledley King was called up to the England squad for the (meaningless) friendly with Slovakia on Saturday and just as soon sent home because of his dodgy knee.
Anyone could have told England manager Fabio Capello that the poor bloke couldn’t train between matches (and Spurs manager ‘Arry Redknapp did) but Fabio called him up just the same.
“We just wanted a good look at him,” explained a Football Association spokesman.
Well he’s tall, black, imposing and has a knee that barely works.
