On the one hand it's a surprise, Felipe Scolari only took over at Chelsea at the start of the season and the club is still fourth in the Premiership and preparing for a last 16 Champion's League match with Juventus. On the other hand the side has forgotten how to win, Chelsea drew with Hull at home on Saturday, and 'Big Phil', who won the World Cup as manager of Brazil and did well managing Portugal, has clearly run out of ideas about how to get anything like the best out of his team of non-performing but very highly paid superstars. And, crucially, Russian owner Roman Abramovitch has clearly decided that he's not going to pump any more of his rapidly declining fortune into this bunch of under-achievers (he's already 'loaned' the club £578m). So will Chelsea implode? Well they will if Roman asks for his money back. Can he afford another manager? Arguable, given that he's got pay off Phil. So who's left? Coach Ray Wilkins? Will Jose Mourinho be tempted to come back from Inter Milan to right the sinking ship? Not in a million years. Looks like former manager Avram Grant, a nice guy but a pretty clueless football coach, is about the best Roman can do. What a load of borscht and tears.
