Or so it would appear, according to reports.
Friends of Guy Ritchie have stoutly maintained throughout that he wanted none of Madonna’s money (he’s hardly short of a few bob) and, with their divorce due to be posted tomorrow, Ritchie appears happy to settle for access to their two sons, Rocco and adopted David.
This in itself could lead to problems as the increasingly loopy Kaballah believer Madonna can be expected to bring them up in a rather different way to Ritchie, who seems to still be in charge of his faculties.
He has doubtless inherited many of these from his father, former advertising account man John Ritchie, who survived for many years at the ad agency Collett Dickenson Pearce, peopled by a volatile crowd under the stewardship of Frank Lowe, thanks to a combination of bonhomie, native wit and always having a drink to hand.
And at least Guy will now be able to spend more time in the pub he owns just off London’s Berkeley Square.
