One man has found his own solution to getting money out of the banks. He’s held up the same branch in London three times in the last two-and-a-half years.
Each time he has hit the Lloyds TSB branch in Tottenham Court Road right in the heart of the city. He wanders up to the cashier, displays a bag in which there appears to be a gun and quietly demands the cash.
After first walking out with a few thousand pounds in March 2006, he repeated the trick in November 2007 and most recently earlier this week.
Clearly this guy could see the credit crunch coming and set up an alternative strategy for maintaining his income. Anyone trying to get a loan or a mortgage in the current banking climate will feel some sympathy for him.
No one at Lloyds seems to have been unduly worried by his regular visits. Perhaps they appreciate his customer loyalty.
