Top Gear star and all-round petrol head Jeremy Clarkson has damaged himself driving a truck through a wall. This was allegedly to show that driving trucks can be dangerous (indeed it is, but no-one else sets out to drive through a wall). Top Gear presenters have a habit of damaging themselves. Richard Hammond almost killed himself a while back trying to drive at 300mph (thereby putting up his earning power considerably). The third member of the trio James May seems a bit more sensible, but it's probably only a matter of time. Should the embattled BBC really be sponsoring this stuff? But Top Gear is made by Clarkson's production company and the Beeb makes buckets of money with its share of the worldwide rights. But does it realise how big the damages writ will be when one of these nutters kills themselves?

Really fed up with this programme can’t we have a programme that actually looks at vehicles and discusses them accurately etc. not just a motor mouth presenter who is overpaid and egotistical. Many people of all ages I know feel the same - nothing clever about what he does, all rather sad really, as it takes talent to present a programme properly with the subject as the main feature.
