Journalist, and occasional terpsichorean, John Sergeant has resigned from Strictly Come Dancing after the judges (obnoxious Craig Revel-Horwood, embalmed Len Goodman and formerly famous Arlene Phillips) became uncontrollably rude about his sterling efforts.
He was even abused by Jurassic song and dance man and compere Bruce Forsyth, who is on there to be funny and isn’t.
Sergeant says he thought there was a serious chance of him winning the contest (which would have been silly) as people were evidently voting to annoy the extremely annoying judges.
It’s probably the right decision but a bit tough on his spunky partner Siberian Kristina Rihanoff. But no doubt Kristina will get her reward in due course, like a place on next year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. Just the kind of resourceful gal to quickstep with in the jungle, I’m sure.
So it’s goodbye from John, and goodbye from most of the viewers.
