Johnny Depp, alias Captain Jack Sparrow, is reported to have signed up for the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film, for the not inconsiderable booty of £32m.
This is a record apparently, beating the £29m Tom Hanks will trouser for Angels & Demons, the follow-up to The Da Vinci Code.
Fellow stars Kiera Knightley and Orlando Bloom are thought to have resisted temptation (there are only so many times you can be upstaged by Depp, even for loadsamoney).

Yeah, thanks Tris. Actually the guy they should sign up, apart from Depp of course, is Geoffrey Rush who played a memorable villain in one, or maybe more of them. Rush can hold his own in the upstaging stakes with even the mighty Depp.
