Now we know a bit more about actor Andrew Sachs’ granddaughter who featured in the smutty phone calls from Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross, she’s also a burlesque dancer from north London whose stage name is Voluptua.
This racy persona doesn’t make any material difference to the two comedians’ assault on Sachs although it might help to explain it. We haven’t yet learned whether or not she knows Brand (or Ross for that matter, who’s also a denizen of north London, a Hampstead mansion no less).
The next unfortunate to be ‘exposed’, will be the hapless ’senior Radio 2 executive’ who passed this stuff for broadcast.
The last big name departure from the Beeb following a supposed scandal was highly-rated BBC 1 controller Peter Fincham who was forced to resign in the wake of the clip of a scowling Queen that was misleadingly edited in a promo film shown to the press (how stupid can you get)?
Well about as stupid as passing this stuff for broadcast I guess.

Thank you for pointing out that Georgina Baillie’s job has no material bearing on the stupid and insensitive prank by Ross and Brand. I noticed the Daily Mail turned down the volume of its criticism of the pair when it printed the article on Georgina. I agree it may explain some of the motivation: perhaps Brand’s actual contempt for the women for whom he supposedly feels “actual love”–for a nanosecond. And good for Andrew Sachs for insisting it’s Georgina who is owed the apology; he is a gentleman.
