The UK government has decided not to slaughter the nation's badgers to try to stem bovine TB, for which old Brock is blamed, provoking fury among the farming community. Now I'm never quite sure what the farming community is; is it farmers who try to raise livestock and grow crops (and struggle) or those fat cats who 'farm' prairies in East Anglia and elsewhere and grow fat on EU subsidies? Anyway the Government looks as though it's going to ignore former chief 'scientist' David King's advice (wisely no doubt, most of his advice in government was plain wrong) and give old Brock a stay of execution. Tough on cattle farmers no doubt, but who, in their right mind, would take on voters and the badger lobby?

Brock the badger gets a reprieve
