Well he's not there any more, after the Drudge Report blew his cover. There's something about Royalty in the UK that just wrong-foots everybody. Yes, playboy Harry wants to be a soldier and, yes, I'm sure he mucked in with the lads and took a few pot shots at the Taliban (assuming anyone is sure who they are). But for PM Gordon Brown to get on his hind legs today and say that 'everyone in the country owes a debt of gratitude' to Harry is just plain barmy. Half the country thinks we shouldn't be in that desperate country in the first place, and they're the half that's right. Foreigners don't quite get the ironic relationship we Brits have with the monarchy and many of them, like Mr Fayed of Dodi, Diana and Harrods fame, think the Duke of Edinburgh runs the bloody country. So Harry shooting at Muslims is not a very good idea. As for the UK media 'covering' up the story that he was over there, you just can't win here. Some in the media say, high-mindedly, that we shouldn't conceal things from the public. The public say, perfectly reasonably, 'you bastards will do anything to get a story' and you'll be offering big cheques to the first paparazzi that spots Harry falling out of Bouji's nightclub on his return. More arguments for a republic, I'd say.
